Guild Charter for Level Design

Guild Purpose


The Level Design guild is dedicated to organizing the physical space of digital environments, integrating aspects of UX design and game design. Level Designers collaborate with artists and programmers to create cohesive experiences that meet project requirements.


Experiential Learning


  • Setting up a level design plan and iterating to final form.
  • Facilitating discussions, presenting, receiving and giving feedback.
  • Using common level design software like Unreal Engine, Unity, Blender, etc.

Foundational Knowledge


  • Understanding of planning, feedback, implementation, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with game engines, programming languages, audio/video editors, and art programs.

Competencies


  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written formats.
  • Strong organizational skills for effective planning and implementation.
  • Effective collaboration with diverse team roles.
