Presence Team Documentation

Our Purpose

The Presence Team at Meteor Studio is dedicated to fostering welcoming and inclusive environments within our labs, studios, and communal areas across ASU. Our primary goal is to ensure that everyone entering our spaces feels empowered to engage with our community and resources.


Presence Team Responsibilities

  • Space Maintenance

    • Ensures our spaces are well-kept, organized, and labeled.
    • Develops and implements procedures for maintaining cleanliness.
    • Designs spatial layouts that optimize space, accessibility, and aesthetics.
  • Presence Ambassadors

    • Engage with the members of Meteor Studio and visitors in our spaces.
    • Provide guidance and support to individuals who use our spaces.
    • Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere by greeting individuals, giving tours, answering questions, and offering assistance.
  • Equipment Checkout

    • Manages the inventory of equipment.
    • Tracks equipment reservations and checkouts.
    • Coordinates with Meteor Studio student workers on the pickup and dropoff of inventory items.
  • Project Demo and Showcase Coordination

    • Assists project teams with the organization of project demos and showcases.
    • Coordinates demo events, including the scheduling, logistics, setup, and breakdown of spaces.
  • Documentation and Reporting

    • Create how-to guides for various pieces of technology in the labs.
    • Develop troubleshooting guides for communal hardware and software.
    • Design space guidelines and clean-up policies that will be posted in communal spaces.
    • Maintain records of cleaning schedules, inspections, and maintenance activities.
    • Document any safety hazards or safety violations observed within lab spaces and report them to the management and facilities teams.

Membership Requirements

  • Passion for interior design, space planning, and creating inviting environments.
  • Ability to be physically present on-site during working hours.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
